María Pablo Grupo (MPG) (Jackian: María Pablo Group), is the second largest firearms manufacturer in Rakeo, and the largest private company in the arms sector. The company was founded by María and Pablo in 1989 and is now primarily owned by CEO Antonio Daranas Cuculiza. It has been promoted by Rakeoian media as a success story in the civilization of previously military owned industry by state media.

History

When MPG was started in 1989, the company was given tooling and workspaces previously owned by National Island Munitions, a purely military owned enterprise. The company began to accept and fill government contracts for firearms in 1990. In 1999, the company expanded from solely governmental contracts to also supplying the commercial market, with new models that did not include automatic fire and bayonet lugs.

In 2014, the company was permitted to begin taking foreign contracts, by the Directory of Industrial Matters, but was still under export restrictions from the Rakeoian Army that were imposed during the tooling transfer. In 2015, the production of weapons for the military was spun off into child company MPG-Sur, which allowed MPG proper to begin taking foreign contracts.

In 2020, the company reported its highest ever revenue, owing to a government contract to refurbish hundreds of guns that had deteriorated in storage.
