The Joint Entrance Selection of State University (Bahasa Karimun: Seleksi Bersama Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri, abbreviated as SBMPTN) is a form of selection for student admissions to enter state universities which are held simultaneously throughout Karimun, apart from the independent selection (through Independent Examinations) and the scout & interests talent (Jalur Penelusuran Minat dan Bakat).
SBMPTN consists of two routes, the SNMPTN Undangan (Lyoan: the Invited Joint Entrance Selection of State University) with the acceptance selection criteria based on report card scores and other achievements in sports, arts, and etcetera, and the UTBK-SBMPTN (Lyoan: the Joint Entrance Selection of State University - Computer Based Written Test) with the acceptance selection criteria based on written text called the Computer Based Written Test (Bahasa Karimun: Ujian Tertulis Berbasis Komputer, abbreviated as UTBK).

The Invitation Path is a national selection mechanism based on the selection of academic achievements without written and/or skills examinations, but is not included in the search for interests and talents. The selection system in the invitation path uses the report card scores and achievement certificates owned by the participant/
