Football is the most popular sport in the nation of New Illyricum, and all leagues and cups in New Illyricum are run by the New Illyrian Football Alliance which was founded in 1890 along with the Prima Certamena de Pedesophora de Nova Illyrica, the premier football league in the country. New Illyricum joined the LFE in 1969 and has competed in the Terraconservan Cup since 1936. New Illyricum has been successful on the international stage, winning Illyric club Turis FC the inaugural Terraconserva Club World Cup in 1981.
