Elections in Karimun

Elections in Karimun have taken place since 1946, the first election after the formation of the modern state of the Federation of Karimun to elect a legislature under the Federal Constitution of Karimun. Elections in Karimun are of several types; at the national level, the president, vice president, the member of the People's Consultative Assembly are elected for a five years term and at the regional level, depends on the states' constitutions. Elections are all regulated under the 2018 National Electoral Law and 2019 Regional Electoral Law which are the most recent and reformed guidelines of elections at both national and regional levels.

Karimun's People's Consultative Assembly is a bicameral legislature consists of the lower chamber, the People's Representative Council which has 575 members, and the upper chamber, the Regional Representative Council which has 200 members, together the People's Consultative Assembly has around 775 members, both are elected to a five years term, with a limitation of two continuously terms.
