Elections in Icaris

In the Theocratic States of Icaris, there are elections are held for government officials at the federal, state, and municipal level. At the federal level, the head of state, the president, is elected directly by members of each state. All members of the National Parliament, composed of the State Ministry and Council of Delegates, are also elected directly by the people. The role of Speaker of the Council of Delegates is directly elected by the people, while the Prime Minister, is chosen via either blended selection or direct selection. Blended selection is a process in which each state elects a candidate for the president to select from, and direct selection is the method in which the president outright selects a Prime Minister without state elections.

The country's election system is highly centralized and regulated. There is no early voting, no electronic voting, and voter identification laws are strictly enforced.
