Early life and career
Political career
Spurling began his career at the Defense Research and Analysis Center. From 2043-2045 he was a policy advisor to the Deputy Minister of Global and Domestic Security. His work in MoD got him noticed and he went to work as a defense policy advisor for Prime Minister Danyal Sadik. In 2049, he left the Prime Minister's office to become the campaign manager for Tate Dennell. After Dennell lost the election, he became the Communications Director for Patrick Murphy as Minister of International Relations. He then ran for state delegacy in 2052 and won. After serving 2 terms, he joined the Papillion administration as the president's Communications Director from 2069-2073. From 2073-2076, he served as the Chief of Staff to the Deputy Minister of Global and Domestic Security. In 2076, he was appointed Deputy Director of the Office of Counterterrorism and in 2079, he was appointed Director. He ran for president in 2065 and 2069, losing both Libertist Party primaries.
