The Chienrú K7RDM is a low-entry single-deck bus chassis manufactured by Chienrú. It was succeeded by the Chienrú K8HDR in 2013. Although it has been succeeded, the model is still in production as of 2023.
Specifications
The Chienrú K7RDM is similar to its predecessor. In essence the K7RDM is the front section of the K7L chassis mated with the rear section of the K7R chassis. Originally, the K7RDM featured the D7C 6-cylinder, 7.3-litre diesel engine with a turbocharger and intercooler, producing 250 or 275 bhp and meeting the Ost III incentive emission standard. This was replaced by the 7.1-litre Chienrú D7E engine producing 290 bhp, to Ost III/Ost IV/Ost V incentive emission standards. Unlike the K7L, the K7RDM's engine is mounted at the center of the rear overhang as opposed to the nearside, resolving the issue of engine intrusion into the saloon. The Chienrú K7RDM is also equipped with disc brakes and ABS.
Operators
Monsilva
In Monsilva, the Chienrú K7RDM is used extensively on many bus networks, including ones in Luhai City, Waiping and Shangrao. However, due to its diesel engine, many bus networks have begun phasing the K7RDM out of its fleet in favor of electric buses also produced by Chienrú, such as the Chienrú KLD
