Aktau is the Capital and the largest city in Akhmola. it is the economic centre of the country and also serves as the capital of the Akhtau region. The city was first settled in the 8th century BC, however it was made the capital of Akhmola in 431BC by King Serikbolat I. Aktau has remained the seat of power since then, many prominent governmental buildings are located in Aktau, such as The Chamber of Dukes and The Council of Man, as well as the RoyalPalace, also known as the Palace of King Serikbolat.
