A Tiroler passport is issued to citizens of Tirol to facilitate international travel. The passport is proof of citizenship of Tirol and allows visa-free travel across a number of countries.
The application and printing processes of all Tiroler passports are handled by the Tiroler Statsdrucarìa in Innsbruck.
Physical appearance
Tiroler passports are of hunter green with the Tiroler coat of arms emblazoned in the centre of the front cover. The official name of Tirol is inscribed in Ladin above the coat of arms "FRAESTAT DL TIROL" (Jackian: Free State of Tirol) and with "PASSAPORT" (Jackian: passport) inscribed below. The biometric symbol is inscribed at the bottom to indicate that the passport is usable on automatic passport controls. Each page of the passports are watermarked with the provincial coat of arms of the province the citizen was resident in at time of renewal.
Diplomatic passports are issued to citizens operating as diplomats or representatives of Tirol. These passports are of the same size and likewise has all the inscriptions of the standard passport, except with the addition of "DIPLOMATICH" (Jackian: diplomatic) beneath the inscription of "PASSAPORT". The diplomatic passport is maroon in colour to differentiate from a standard passport.
