Time in Reykanes by law is divided in to four standard time zones covering the municipalities and territories: North Western Standard Time (NWST; AMT+04:00), Hafnir Central Standard Time (HCST; AMT+05:00), and Eastern and Bird islands Standard Time (EBIST; AMT+06:00) and the WIP Islands are AMT+03:00 . Time is regulated by the individual municipality governments, some of which observe daylight saving time (DST). Reykanes's external territories observe different time zones.

History

Most of Reykanes's areas are desolate, wild and infrastructure was nonexistent in most regions. As an effect it lead to most settlements to adopt their own time and some smaller timezones were created. In 1889, the Salisfordian Grand Duchy of Reykanes adopted a single timezone to unify everything and stop the confusion created before it. It took a while till all regions aligned to the new time zone. At first it temporarily solved the problem, however soon became another issue, since having one time zone on a large area isn't better. In 1897, Reykanes was divided in to multiple time zones.
