After completing his 15 years of service, Stavros II graduated from the University of Athenia with a degree in political science. He then entered politics, first at the local level, before joining the Senate. He ran for president in 2010, but was defeated by Diamantina III. He ran again, and was successful, in the 2015 chancellory election.
