After graduating, he became an attorney for the Gjorkan Police Union, one of the largest unions in the country, and eventually became the head attorney. Following the Shooting of Oscar Watkkins and the subsequent 1998 Gjorkan City Riots he resigned in protest due to the actions of police officers against protestors. His resignation and interviews about the decision led to nationwide fame. He turned to elective politics and started a campaign to become an assembly member from Gjorkan City. He became the leader of the Forward Gjorka caucus in 2005. Following the election of Joseph Marcos, he became a fierce critic of the president. In 2010, he announced his campaign for President and managed to secure the Forward Gjorka nomination. He easily defeated the massively unpopular Joseph Marcos, winning 60% of the vote. After his inauguration, he has implemented several reforms such as the Universal Healthcare Act which greatly expanded insurance coverage and caused the uninsured population to crater.
