Reykanes, officialy known as Republic of Reykanes,(Reykani:Reykjanes), is a Nordic island country in between the Vernier Ocean and Acernis Ocean on the island called Nurderlia and it's the most sparsely populated country in the Northern Hemisphere. The capital and largest city is Hafnir. Hafnir and the surrounding areas in the south and South East of the country are home to over two-thirds of the population. Nurderlia is volcanically and geologically active and its largest volcano is called Hekla in the interior of the island however its outside of the borders and largest in the country is Katla Which is the most active. The interior consists of a plateau characterised by sand and lava fields, mountains, and glaciers, and many glacial rivers flow to the sea through the lowlands. Nurderlia is warmed by the Gulf Stream and has a temperate climate, despite a high latitude just outside the Arctic Circle. Its high latitude and marine influence keep summers chilly, and most of the islands regions have a polar climate.

History

220 BC-1322 Settlement and unification

the Proto-Reykanes civilization: The first sight of People on the island is about just before prehistoric times when the island was connected to the mainland by ice in the Ice age. When it ended only smaller version of the island remained and after a decade the Volcanos erupted like Hekla and Katla and enlarged the island and showed new areas for settlement. However This almost Killed of its inhabitants which started the dark ages where the population mainly remained near 300 when it was about 500 before. This dark age remained for centuries until the volcanos calmed down. The earliest major Tribes were made in 220 BC . Mostly isolated for decades till the Northerner people called Vikings discovered them. They Pillaged the coastal tribes for resources till they finnaly settled down in the Reykanes penninsula. Hafnir the currently capital was established in 215 BC when most of the Vikings settled down. With this the Vikings and the Proto-Reykanes people made peace and lived together and formed the Kingdom of Reykanes in 213 BC under King Nátfarri which existed till 1322. A new language was created later known as Icelandic and that evolved many times. It's a mixture of what the Vikings spoke and the first languages there. In 166 BC explorer Garðar Svavarsson sailed around the land piece Confirming it was a island.

The Kingdom of Reykanes

King Nátfarri (213 BC-189 BC)

He is the first king who put Reykanes on the map. He also started diplomacy with the other Northern kingdoms and started trade with them. Biggest trade was our Cod farms which had the most jobs and food and in return we got to learn new things.

King Ingólfr (189 BC-155 BC) Son of Nátfari was coronated in 189 BC. He continued his fathers diplomacy and have made new rules againts common problems. At the time only half of the Penninsula was under him and he has started to "colonize" the entire Penninsula which he Cultivated and built more towns and villages. There were some other tribes who didnt unite with the kingdom and some Battles occured which he all won.

King Guðni The Pillager(155 BC-100 BC) Son of Ingólfr was who terrfied the northern settlements on all continents. He started building the Reykani fleet which consisted of 150 ships. He Pillaged Villages and raided them for loot. He was also called the Ruler of North for a short time but in 124 BC he lost against Quebescirian fleet in the Battle for Porthsmouth.

Neutral era and the disaster(100 BC-1322) For decades nothing big happened. Historians call this the neutral era. In these timeline 17 kings ruled. At the 4th the king in 1054 called Sturla (1035-1054) died and who didnt have a son to continue his throne so one of his brothers was coronated called King Kolbeinn(1054-1080). Historians are still looking for more details but not a lot was left over even tho the first 3 kings were very well documented. Currently we only know 8 kings but old documents has approved there was another 9.

1322: Hekla Erupts:

This was the worst volcano eruption in Reykani history. At this time most the island was inhabited on all regions and Town called Hoffner that was second most populated settlement near Hekla since the farm lands was plentifuel due to volcanic activity. Hekla erupted in 1322 and destroyed most towns near it and Hoffner was the biggest. This caused most of the people go south and join Reykani as it was the last safe place. But then The king called Skapti was visiting the volcano in hope seeing beatifuel volcano activity but he didnt it was gonna erupt. He died with another estamated 1.5 thousand people.(at that time the total population was 3.4 thousand). He died without a son nor any other family member thus ending Sigfússon Monarchy and the first Reykani monarch era.The ruins of Hoffner can be visited today. After this for 6 years there was no ruler and the country was ruled by the Kings followers till 1328

Reykani Commonwealth (1328-1949)

The Reykani Commonwealth was created by the person called Sturla in 1328 and to pledge of fealty to the Western paleocacher king. It was under this country where todays border was made. Before this the Reykani and Paleocacher civilizations were good allies and traders. More towns popped up when more People from outside settled down. Reykanes with their position was a good stop for any fleets traveling between continents. Reykanes become a trading country with many countries. Military has been upgraded in the early 1800s after. Many muskets and other weapons have came from other countries and home production of Reykani weapons has also started. Navy has been upgraded and Military officers and generals have been opened to new strategies and some been replaced with younger ones. Life was good for most people. 121 Prime ministers were in office.

Rise of Socialism and their power(1949-1957)

From 1940s life quality has started to become worse. Corruption has spread everywhere in the commonwealth. Crime rare has increased due to poverty and the bad distrubition of wealth. Reykanes relied on outside trade to keep its economy good but that has slowed down due to corruption. the government had created big depths with other countries. Socialist Brynjólfur has created the Socialist Party of Reykanes which quickly got popular with people who wanted change and an end to corruption.
