The Mikailan Kingdom (Classical Vaktrian: Ⲙⳅⲕⲁⲓⲗⲁⲋⲧⲁⲛ, Mikaılastan) was a Vaktrian Christian kingdom located in southern Vaktria from 973 to 1356.
History
In 966, Paul the Righteous of the Mikailan dynasty led the Vaktrian Christians of southern Vaktria in a rebellion against the Haltemid Caliphate. In 973, Paul succeeded in establishing the independent Mikailan Kingdom.
In 1052, the Mikailan Kingdom began the Vaktrian Crusade against the Haltemid Caliphate. The kingdom wanted to retake holy site important to Vaktrian Christians, including the city of Scipia in which several monasteries and cathedrals are located. The Mikailan Kingdom came into conflict with the Order of Assassins, an organization of Khaledi Imrani assassins. In 1055, the Order killed Mikailan King Ibrahim I. Soon after, the Mikailan Kingdom ceased its invasion, having made minor territorial gains.
