Twenty-five species of reptiles have been recorded in Rakeo, including 10 species of snakes, 11 species of turtle, and 4 species of lizard. Rakeo does not have an official national reptile, however, three of the Mendoras claim a local Mendora reptile.
Some species of reptiles have come under threat from habitat destruction, increased use of high-intensity agriculture, and pollution from mining.
