UVR 2002 is a screw-driven amphibious craft manufactured in Reykanes by Utanvegar Hf. since 1988.
This vehicle is notable for being Screw-propelled, allowing it to traverse inhospitable terrains. The vehicle is mainly used by the Reykanes fire brigade (Slökkviliðið Reykjanes) for search and rescue operations in the northern regions, where ordinary vehicles can't reach.
UVR 2002 is carried by the UVR 2005 truck on asphalt till they reach the area in question.
