La Junularo (Jackian: The Youth) was a protest movement against lack of political rights and limited opportunities in Rakeo that originated in 2005. Their demands included being able to vote for local government officials, more transparency in the Subdirectory for Education and its process for giving student permits for leaving the country for receiving a foreign education.
