Håkon Martinsen (born 26 February 1990) is an Entropanian activist, sociologist, Member of the National Council of Entropan, leader of the Progressive Socialist Party, and the 1st Chairperson of Entropan. Caoimhín is best known for leading the Participatory Movement, a political organisation that worked with the Second Republic of Entropan's Parliament to put forward numerous bills, amendments, and motions, most likely the Participatory Transition Bill of 2021, a bill which, after a supermajority voted for it in the Parliament, authorised two referenda to be held: the Referendum on the New Democratic Constitution, and the Referendum on the Transition Towards a Participatory Society, which, after both passed, started to transition Entropan from the economic system and political system of the Second Republic towards a model inspired by Micho Vidsejo's model of participatory economics and participatory politics.

Early Life

Håkon Martinsen was born on the 26th of February 1990 to a middle-class family in the Rockrsea Central Hospital, in the city of Rockrsea, Entropan. He is the eldest of three children born to Linda Martinsen, a pediatrician, and Chris Martinsen, a teacher.

Håkon was a quiet child throughout much of his primary education, but developed "a passionately argumentative flair" (as described by his younger sister Noril Martinsen) as he became more interested in social sciences as he transitioned toward secondary education. Håkon graduated from secondary school, and, due to his high achievements, was accepted for a scholarship by the Rockrsea University. It was at Rockrsea University that Martinsen attended a lecture by Professor of Economics at the university, Micho Vidsejo, which he has later described in interviews as "the catalyst for just about everything I have done since".

Career

In 2011, Martinsen founded the Participatory Movement, grouping together various organisations across Entropan that advocated towards a transition towards a participatory economic and political system.

At this time, Martinsen ran as an Independent to be an MP for Rockrsea North, but was defeated, coming in 3rd place, however, undeterred, he began to build up a public career, joining the Progressive Socialist Party and using resources given by the party to start campaigning to become MP. This bid succeeded, defeating incumbant Rannveig Klausen and admitting him into office.

Martinsen used his new office to continue campaigning for the Participatory Movement, proposing a slew of controversial bills that helped him gain popularity among the population of Entropan, securing his re-election as MP and, eventually, managing to make him the Leader of the Progressive Socialist Party. He used this office to gain ties with the incumbant Gudrun Mathisen, the leader of the Social Democratic Party at the time.

In 2020, the Participatory Movement started Plan Go, a plan to ensure a transition towards a participatory economy and polity. This plan involved calling major strikes among industry unions and using socialist MPs to advocate for and propose legislation that would call for referenda on a transition towards a participatory system. Håkon Martinsen, given his status as the informal leader of the movement, began to be the parliamentary figurehead of the movement, proposing multiple bills, including the Participatory Transition Bill of 2021, which, when the last referendum included within the bill passed on the 2nd of February 2021, began the transition Martinsen had envisioned.

On the 13th of April 2022, as Parliament had officially shut down and the National Council was put in its place after elections decided the representatives for each constituencies, Martinsen was re-elected for his position in Rockrsea North, and, after the first nationwide election for Chairperson, was elected as the 1st Chairperson of Entropan.
