The 'First Gjorkan Civil War' was an armed conflict in Gjorka fought between Monarchist Sympathizers and Merchant-led Republican forces.

The war was started over tensions between the Merchant Class and ruling Monarchy. The King Quintin III had been taking more power for himself, and spending the wealth of the treasury. This included rebuilding the capital city (including the royal palace) of Bloemfontein, and fighting a war against Ajakanistan which drained the wealth of the treasury and caused taxes to be raised. Since the capitol was flooded and destroyed the King had to move to Gjorkan City while his palace was rebuilt. Having found his puppets he installed to run the city were instead in the pockets of the merchant class he attempted to re-assert control. The merchant class resisted and eventually tensions sparked into all out war after the Proclamation of the Free was issued declaring the King tyrannical and the monarchy no longer legitimate.
