Ernesto Lucius Scaevolus (Born 1975) is an Illyrian politician who currently serves as the Grand Marshall of the Republic in New Illyricum. He is a lead member of the Conservative Party in New Illyricum, which campaigns for military spending and stricter law enforcement.
Political Career
After serving in several battles during the Ferunian Seperatist War (2006-2008), Scaevolus moved into a political career and was elected to the Illyrian National Parliament in 2010 as a delegate from the province of Illyricum. Scaevolus quickly became one of the most influential members of Parliament in 2012 when he was elected to be the Military Marshall. Scaevolus campaigned for much heavier spending on military arms and weapons, which brought him much support from his fellow delegates. In 2015 following the death of long-time Progressive Grand Marshall Marius Antinous Viminius, Scaevolus announced his intention to run for office. In a landslide election between him and Progressive delegate Lucius Titius Taurus, Scaevolus victored, gaining 73 out of the 79 votes in Parliament. He became the youngest Grand Marshall in Illyrian history, at age 40. In his time as Grand Marshall Scaevolus has passed legislation increasing military spending, ecological awareness, and law enforcement. Scaevolus also passed a controversial bill in 2022 decreasing women's right's even further than before and refusing them the right to vote.
