Druz (Arabic: دروز, Vaktrian: Darzastaŧ) are members of an Arabic speaking ethnoreligious group originating in Vaktria, western Terranihil. They are descendants of Imrani Muslim Arabs who developed a distinct, syncretic religion called Druzism. The religion is based on the teachings of Ramez ad-Darazi, an 8th century Imrani missionary.

Athough the Druz faith developed out of Imranism, most Druz do not consider themselves Muslim. The religion combines aspects of Imranism, Vaktrian Christianity, Astrianism, and the teachings of several Romanyan philosophers. Druze believe in theophany and reincarnation and include aspects of the esoteric Imrani faith. Druz believe in several of the Abrahamic prophets, including Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad, and also believe Ramez ad-Darazi was a prophet.

Druz speak Arabic, as they are descendant of Arabs who settled in the region during the Zuhraid Caliphate. Their Arabic dialect is distinct and combines Vaktrian grammar and vocabulary, sometimes referred to as Vaktrio-Arabic.

There are 1.35 million Druz. The majority of Druz live in their homeland region of Jabal al-Druz in western Terranihil, making up under two percent of the nation. About half of Druz live in the city of Araz.

Name

Druz are named after Ramez al-Darazi, the founder of Druzism. al-Darazi means "seamster" in Arabic.
