The Coalition for an Independent Nation is a non-profit, majority Icarisian government-funded, public policy research institution that conducts assessment and advocacy on democracy, political freedom, and human rights.
Founded in 2036 in the last year of Avi Navon’s tenure as Minister of defense with the stated objective to promote and foster national independence on an international stage with a unique focus in protecting and preserving the ideal of civil liberty from which Icaris was founded on.
While this was the stated mission and objective, the underlying goal was to combat and stand as a watchdog against government infringement on freedoms and human rights after Navon's expansion of the Ministry of Defense. Navon was also heavily projected to win the presidency the following year.
In 2049 Elise Shamir announced CIN would become an official pollster for the Icarisian Election Commission and has been trusted with accurate polling and election analysis ever since.
