Buchthafen is Kivu's capital and largest city, as well as the state capital Buchthafen state. Located on Kivu's western coast, Buchthafen serves as the economic, cultural, and political capital of Kivu. As of 2022, an estimated 7,198,374 were living in the Buchthafen metropolitan area.
