Tiroleans (Ladin: Tirolejes) are a Rhaetic ethnic group and nation native to the Dolomita Mountain Range and its neighbouring insular territories. Tiroleans share a common culture, history, ancestry and language. Legally, Tirolean nationals are citizens of Tirol, regardless of ancestry or nation of residence (in effect, however, Tiroler nationality is largely based on jus sanguinis) and may be distinguished from ethnic Tiroleans in general or from people of Tirolean descent without Tiroler citizenship and ethnic Tiroleans living in territories adjacent to the Dolomita without Tiroler citizenship.
