The Mutual Defence Treaty between Tranquillia & Tumland (MDTTT) is a treaty that was signed on April 2, 2023, in Tum Central, between representatives of Tranquillia and Tumland. The overall accord contains eight articles and dictates for both nations to support each other if an external party attacks either member.

Specifications

The overall accord contains eight articles and dictates that both nations would support each other if either Tranquillia or Tumland were to be attacked by an external party.

Article I

Article 1 of the treaty states that member parties settle any international disputes in which they may be involved by peaceful means in such a manner that international peace and security, and justice, are not endangered.

Article II

Article 2 of the treaty stipulates that both member parties shall endeavour to improve friendly economic development, Mutual cultural programs and technological sharing.

Article III

Article 3 of the treaty states that both parties separately and jointly will work on a continued effort to pursue, develop and maintain means for their individual and collective capacity to resist an armed attack.

Article IV

Article 4 of the treaty states that both parties shall allocate specific and unrestricted access to either nations SIGINT/ELINT resources for the purpose of bolstering Security and Early Warning Response systems. Article 4 also states that both nations will work on developing joint beyond the horizon radar for maritime security and early warning systems.

Article V

Article 5 states that any attack on either nation party is to be considered an attack on both nations, An attack would result in the immediate activation of self defence or offensive forces for all members and for those forces to be tasked with Defence of the attacked nation.

Article VI

Article 6 stipulates that Article 5 could only be invoked if a nations immediate mainland territory was under attack or civilian or military lives and assets were endangered. Article 5 could also be invoked if a large enough cyber attack were to "significantly" disrupt a nations economy or way of life.

Article VII

Article 7 states that this treaty shall be acted upon independently from any other defence treaty

Article VIII

Article 8 Stipulates that the treaty shall be enforced indefinitely however either nation can choose to leave the treaty at aby point provided that a 1 year notice is given.
