Resolution Vote Discussion
Commend Kuriko[1] For Seeing all the Good that Kuriko has done in the nationstates community, and being backed by the LCN itself for Secretary General. It only makes sense that Kuriko be commended by the LCN for an exemplary job. It is my hope that the League will follow me in this vote for this resolution.
Condemn Nations Creating Regions For SC Props Against I will be voting against this resolution. It is very accusatory and very little to nothing is explained in the resolution about actions that have been deemed condemnable. It is my opinion that the nations of this region vote against this WA resolution as well. [2]
Repeal: Condemn This Game For As much as I like jokes and humor. The WA is not the area for this. Things like condemnations and therefore anything regarding the WA need to be taken seriously. Thus it is my hope that you all will vote FOR this repeal.[3]
Prevention of Forced Sterilization For Practices like these are cruel and unusual, and should not be tolerated. I am curious though on how the WA will implement this rather than just sit on the issue after this is passed, I would have like to see more of a plan. Nevertheless I will vote FOR the resolution.[4]
On Marijuana Against It is not the World Assemblies position to tell countries they MUST legalize marijuana, and that they MUST pay reparations for people who are locked up for committing crimes. This is a huge blatant overstep of national sovereignty and issue like these should be dealt with internally. It is my opinion that the nations of the LCN vote against this resolution. [5]
Commendation of The Holy Principality of Saint Mark For Seeing all that has been done by The Holy Principality of Saint Mark for the betterment of the NS community it only makes sense to vote for this resolution.[6]
Repeal Reproductive Freedoms Against There is too much turn over in the General Assembly, Most bills are immediately or eventually repealed. There for I am against this proposal
Commend Destructive Government Economic System For Seeing all that has been done by Destructive Government Economic System, it only makes sense to commend their actions.
Ban on The Administration of Unwanted Substances Against There is a lot of grey area in where this bill could be more harmful, like emergency situations. Thus I am voting against this resolution.[7]
Standards for International Road Freight Against Setting standards across multiple nations, and requiring these standards without giving regard for the condition and standards already in place due to national happenings is inconsiderate. Thus I will vote against on the lone fact that this is an overstep of national sovereignty.
Repeal: Data Protection Accord Against Everyone deserves a right to privacy without fear of being falsely put in the wrong. Also again resolutions are so quick to turn over in the WA general assembly, thus I will vote against the resolution.[8]
Condemn Psychotic Dictatorships For Things like discriminating, censorship of free speech (with in reason of security), and, overall causing ill relations in the community is something that the WA and the world does not want. We want to grow this community and let it thrive. Thus I will vote for this resolution.[9]
Commend Audioslavia For Seeing all the good Audioslavia has done for the NS community it only makes sense to commend their actions.
Condemn Auphelia For Seeing the things laid out in the resolution it only makes sense to condemn these actions
'Commend Candensia' For Seeing all the good Candensia has done for the NS community it only makes sense to commend their actions.
'Repeal: Ensuring Safe Syringe Use' For Noting the good intentions of the resolution, but seeing the flaws in the resolution it is valid to repeal this resolution.
Ethical Treatment of Animals In Research' Against The resolution is flawed. If the bills goal is to treat animals more humane and with ethics then clause 8 section C is worrying in the fact that killing an animal is deemed humane. If the goal is what it is then it goes against what the bill is saying. Thus I will be voting against, not for the humane stuff, but for the clear double standard in the bill.

Resolution Vote Discussion
Repeal: “Military Identification Tag Act” For Despite the Military Identification Tag Act having a commendable goal, uniting the bodies of deceased military combatants with their mourning families, the risks of this resolution outweigh the rewards.

The main risk of this resolution is that the information on the dog tags puts military combatants who have been captured in danger of maltreatment or execution if it falls in the hands of an enemy force. One may argue this could be prevented if captured soldiers simply destroyed their dog tags. However, according section 8 of the Military Identification Tag Act; destroying a dog tag, even to protect yourself, is a violation of international law.

Next, one could argue that this resolution decreases national sovereignty as it forces nations to produce and distribute dog tags to its military combatants.

It's clear to see that unless these issues are fixed by a future resolution, we cannot have the Military Identification Tag Act on the WA books.

For the above reasons, I urge a vote Against this proposal.[10]

Ban On Forced Blood Sports Against Today's resolution poses a threat to the culture of nations who participate in blood sports, I see it to be a form of cultural genocide. According to Stavenhagen Rodolfo a professor at United Nations University in his book The Ethnic Question; cultural genocide must be combated at all costs as it leads to the destruction of all of humanity.

If you don't buy that, I believe that the passage of this resolution would affirm that in some respect, animals are afforded better treatment than humans. Let me clarify; this resolution states that we will be banning blood sports because they "[result] in serious death or injury [for an animal]" however, we aren't stopping humans from participating in sports like boxing because they could face the same consequences.

For the above reasons, I urge a vote Against this proposal.[11]

Access to Abortion For The first reason I’m in ardent support of this resolution is to illustrate our region’s disapproval towards the undemocratic and degenerate practices of other regions when it came to opposing the prior Access to Abortion resolution. Such regions conducted raids against small and defenseless regions with delegates apporoving of Access to Abortion in order to take the resolution out of quorum. The League of Conservative Nations condemns such operations as we support the sovereignty of all decent nationstates regions. Under current leadership we will never support operations to raid regions for political gain within the WA and encourage others to pick on regions their own size.

The second reason I fully support this resolution is because it literally reduces instances of abortion. Pro-life apologists probably get a nickel every time they say “life begins at conception.” I would go off to say most of those in this region believe that; thus, vote for this resolution because it protects life. Look at the provisions regarding contraception, “Members must pay for or provide directly… contraceptives.” Contraceptives are inherently pro-life because they prevent abortions. In fact, a study by Washington University in Saint Louis confirms that contraceptives reduce abortion rates by 62 to 78 percent. It’s clear to see voting for is actually the pro-life option.

For the above reasons, I urge a vote For this proposal.[12]

Peaceful First Contact Against First, vote against this resolution because it is an extreme infringement on the national sovereignty. Voting for today's resolution would bar WA member nations from attacking individuals or groups of individuals who disregard national borders. Not only does this handcuff nations from performing their most basic function, defending it's borders; it will lead to the neoliberal wet dream that is open borders worldwide.

This resolution most certainly will end in uncontrolled mass immigration across the word, leading to; unemployment, conflict, crime, and cultural atrophy.

At the end of the day this resolution is poorly written and probably rushed to a vote because the author wanted a shiny badge as quick as possible and infringes on national sovereignty, thus it must be stopped.

For the above reasons, the ministry urges a vote Against this proposal.[13]

Condemn Ravana Against Despite recent, negative foreign affairs interactions with ravana; today's resolution must be voted against as the condemnation is not in good taste.

The authors of this Resolution reigning from the region of Lasagna simply want to condemn Ravana because they responded in a sour way towards a proposed merger between the two regions and unleashed "propaganda" against Lasagna. This lead to a raiding war between the two regions and then a peace negotiation that made matters worse.

As the negative reaction to the proposed merger and the raid was not out of the ordinary; it's clear to see this resolution is a childish way to get back at ravana.

For the above reasons, I urge a vote Against this proposal.[14]

Commend Christian Democrats Against First, vote against this resolution because Christian Democrats actively works against the both the citizenry and interests of the League of Conservative nations. This can most plainly be seen in the ensuing debates of this and last week regarding the Access to Abortion vote where they stood behind individuals such as United Massachusetts who slandered our region simply because we voted in a way he didn't like on a GA resolution. No enemy of the LCN deserves to be commended.

Second, vote against because Christian Democrats also works against the best interests of the WA. Christian Democrats signed a document stating that their nation will not comply with Access to Abortion. This is absolutely against the rules of the World Assembly. Vote this resolution down because someone who blatently disrespects the rules of the World Assembly should not be commended by the World Assembly.

For the above reasons, I urge a vote Against this proposal.[15]

International Criminal Protocol Against Vote against this resolution because if fails to protect prisoners put on suicide watch from themselves. According to the definition of Protective confinement, prisoners may only be admitted to confinement for their protection if they are posed a risk by other prisoners. But we might ask ourselves, can a prisoner be a danger to themself? Absolutely, Linkprisoner suicides happen at a rate 3.5 times higher than the average for the citizenry in developed countries. Solitary is usually the tool used to mitigate this frightening effect, but if we can no longer use it the suicide rate in prisons will skyrocket.

Next, vote against this resolution because it decreases national sovereignty by taking national control over prisons and transferring that authority to the WA.

For the above reasons, I urge a vote Against this proposal.[16]

Wartime Journalism Protection Act For Within the real world in 2019, Link49 Journalists were killed while reporting from warzones. While this number was the lowest it has been in two decades, it is still too high.

Today's resolution decreases instances of warzone journalists being killed or detained by allowing them total, unabridged access to warzones across NS. This in turn means that the world can receive much needed reports on the state of human rights in war zones, war crimes, and other general information integral when peeking into conflicts.

Furthermore, today's resolution does not abridge national sovereignty as journalists are only guaranteed access to what combatants in a certain conflict will see. If journalists are caught participating in combat, this resolution does not apply to them; so nations who catch journalists fighting against them may still detain or execute combative journalists.

For the above reasons, I urge a vote For this proposal.[17]

Condemn Mikeswill Against Today's resolution appears to be targeted against Mikeswill for malicious reasons. It is very clear to me that Mikeswill who is one of the oldest and most renown nations on NS has done absolutely nothing overtly wrong and that the only reason they are up for condemnation is that nations like Morover feel like they have been somehow wronged by them. Mikeswill didn't raid any peaceful nations, they didn't say anything offensive, and they didn't lead a coup; they simply are better at NS card market than others.

This resolution is absurd and childish, and must be voted down.

For the above reasons, I urge a vote Against this proposal.[18]

International Transportation Preclearance Act Against Vote against today's resolution because it is simply useless bureaucracy. The preclearance stations mentioned in this resolution are just border crossing stations set before the border of a certain nation, effectively meaning that individuals have to pass through two different ports of entry before crossing an international boundary.

I foresee this exacerbating the problems created by the necessary evil of ports of entry including increase strain on road and waterways and confusion. This in turn would have a negative effect on the global economy by increasing delivery times as well as decreasing payable miles for truck drivers and sailor.

For the above reasons, I urge a vote Against this proposal.[19]

Commend Vippertooth33 For Today's resolution increases the security efforts of the LCN by commending the enemy of our enemies on the far-right. Vippertooth33 is responsible for the destruction of many hateful regions that don't work in the best interests of the LCN.

For the above reasons, I urge a vote For this proposal.[20]

Commend Frieden-Und Freudenland Against There literally seems to be no reasons to commend Frieden-und Freudenland. While I understand they are probably a cool person, writing issues and being an integral member of the community in Forest isn't enough to get a shiny badge and recognition by the entire Security Council.

Commendations should not be given out so lightly as they diminish the efforts of individual nations who actually deserve them.

For the above reasons, I urge a vote Against this proposal.[21]

Repeal: “Freedom To Seek Medical Care II” For Resolutions like Freedom to Seek Medical Care II abhor me. Resolutions where the author so blatantly looked passed the flaws of his resolution in order to get a shiny General Assembly Author badge make me absolutely sick. These resolutions should disgust you, the citizenry of the League of Conservative Nations too.

The problem with Freedom to Seek Medical Care II is the flaw its author so carelessly seemed to overlook which lies within Clause 4 and prohibits a member nation from taking legal action against its medical tourists except for those violating World Assembly law. This is problematic as it would allow medial tourists to commit crimes in the nations hosting them without fear of justice or punishment.

Thank the author of Freedom to Seek Medical Care II for allowing foreigners undergoing radiation therapy to rape the citizens of your country, thank him for allowing foreign women who need mammograms to murder in your county, and thank him for allowing foreigners getting thyroid scans to commit acts of terrorism in your country.

This ends now!

For the above reasons, I urge a vote For this proposal.

[22]

Protecting Legal Rights Of Workers For This Resolution embellishes the law known in the United States as the National Labor Relations Act of 1935. This, in addition to being the last major piece of pro-labor legislation in American history, ensures that private sector employees have the right to join a union or participate in acts of solidarity without fear of retaliation by their employer.

The right to organize is integral to the sanity, safety, and fair compensation of workers worldwide. Increasing economic equality.

For the above reasons, I urge a vote For this proposal.

Commend Trotterdam For Whereas Trotterdam may not be well known within much much of the Nationstates community as they are not associated with the inner workings of any major region, nor are they a key raider or defender; it does not mean they aren't worthy of commendation.

Trotterdam is responsible for the Nationstates issue database which allows leaders to see the effects of issues before making a decison. This in turn has raised the well being of the citizens of many countries exponentially.

For this Trotterdam deserves to be commended by the entire Security Council.

For the above reasons, I urge a vote For this proposal.

Integrity In Law Enforcement Against This resolution is an assault on the privacy of law enforcement officers accused of committing crimes on the job, thus I strongly urge a vote against.

One of the more important human rights is the right to privacy and to have your personal documents secure. This resolution not only shreds those rights apart, it only applies the new standard to a certain part of the population, constituting discrimination. In countries with a developed judicial system, if prosecutors want the documents of accused Law Enforcement Officers; they can take all the legals means to get them unsealed as they would with any other person.

What's the difference between a criminal cop and a criminal garbage truck driver? Nothing. This resolution is anti-police and anti-civil liberties.

For the above reasons, I urge a vote Against this proposal.[23]

Commend Nuremgard For Nuremgard is an active part of the issues writing community who greatly needs to be commended for their work.

Writing issues is a difficult feat which includes having a worthy idea, putting it to paper, posting it on the nationstates forums to receive a lot of help and criticism, writing a finial draft, and then having the final draft approved by the nationstates moderators. Nuremgard went through that process seven times and this deserves to be commended by the entire security council.

For the above reasons, I urge a vote For this proposal.[24]
