If you don't buy that, I believe that the passage of this resolution would affirm that in some respect, animals are afforded better treatment than humans. Let me clarify; this resolution states that we will be banning blood sports because they "[result] in serious death or injury [for an animal]" however, we aren't stopping humans from participating in sports like boxing because they could face the same consequences.

This page is dedicated to The League of Conservative Nations's World Assembly votes, it provides quick access to votes, and the rational behind it.

New Gandor

Votes of New Gandor when serving as Director of Foreign Affairs.

Resolution Vote Discussion
Commend Kuriko[1] For Seeing all the Good that Kuriko has done in the nationstates community, and being backed by the LCN itself for Secretary General. It only makes sense that Kuriko be commended by the LCN for an exemplary job. It is my hope that the League will follow me in this vote for this resolution.
Condemn Nations Creating Regions For SC Props Against I will be voting against this resolution. It is very accusatory and very little to nothing is explained in the resolution about actions that have been deemed condemnable. It is my opinion that the nations of this region vote against this WA resolution as well. [2]
Repeal: Condemn This Game For As much as I like jokes and humor. The WA is not the area for this. Things like condemnations and therefore anything regarding the WA need to be taken seriously. Thus it is my hope that you all will vote FOR this repeal.[3]
Prevention of Forced Sterilization For Practices like these are cruel and unusual, and should not be tolerated. I am curious though on how the WA will implement this rather than just sit on the issue after this is passed, I would have like to see more of a plan. Nevertheless I will vote FOR the resolution.[4]
On Marijuana Against It is not the World Assemblies position to tell countries they MUST legalize marijuana, and that they MUST pay reparations for people who are locked up for committing crimes. This is a huge blatant overstep of national sovereignty and issue like these should be dealt with internally. It is my opinion that the nations of the LCN vote against this resolution. [5]
Commendation of The Holy Principality of Saint Mark For Seeing all that has been done by The Holy Principality of Saint Mark for the betterment of the NS community it only makes sense to vote for this resolution.[6]
Repeal Reproductive Freedoms Against There is too much turn over in the General Assembly, Most bills are immediately or eventually repealed. There for I am against this proposal
Commend Destructive Government Economic System For Seeing all that has been done by Destructive Government Economic System, it only makes sense to commend their actions.
Ban on The Administration of Unwanted Substances Against There is a lot of grey area in where this bill could be more harmful, like emergency situations. Thus I am voting against this resolution.[7]
Standards for International Road Freight Against Setting standards across multiple nations, and requiring these standards without giving regard for the condition and standards already in place due to national happenings is inconsiderate. Thus I will vote against on the lone fact that this is an overstep of national sovereignty.
Repeal: Data Protection Accord Against Everyone deserves a right to privacy without fear of being falsely put in the wrong. Also again resolutions are so quick to turn over in the WA general assembly, thus I will vote against the resolution.[8]
Condemn Psychotic Dictatorships For Things like discriminating, censorship of free speech (with in reason of security), and, overall causing ill relations in the community is something that the WA and the world does not want. We want to grow this community and let it thrive. Thus I will vote for this resolution.[9]
Commend Audioslavia For Seeing all the good Audioslavia has done for the NS community it only makes sense to commend their actions.
Condemn Auphelia For Seeing the things laid out in the resolution it only makes sense to condemn these actions
'Commend Candensia' For Seeing all the good Candensia has done for the NS community it only makes sense to commend their actions.
'Repeal: Ensuring Safe Syringe Use' For Noting the good intentions of the resolution, but seeing the flaws in the resolution it is valid to repeal this resolution.
Ethical Treatment of Animals In Research' Against The resolution is flawed. If the bills goal is to treat animals more humane and with ethics then clause 8 section C is worrying in the fact that killing an animal is deemed humane. If the goal is what it is then it goes against what the bill is saying. Thus I will be voting against, not for the humane stuff, but for the clear double standard in the bill.

San Carlos Islands

Votes of San Carlos Islands when serving as Director of Foreign Affairs.

Resolution Vote Discussion
Repeal: “Military Identification Tag Act” For Despite the Military Identification Tag Act having a commendable goal, uniting the bodies of deceased military combatants with their mourning families, the risks of this resolution outweigh the rewards.

The main risk of this resolution is that the information on the dog tags puts military combatants who have been captured in danger of maltreatment or execution if it falls in the hands of an enemy force. One may argue this could be prevented if captured soldiers simply destroyed their dog tags. However, according section 8 of the Military Identification Tag Act; destroying a dog tag, even to protect yourself, is a violation of international law.

Next, one could argue that this resolution decreases national sovereignty as it forces nations to produce and distribute dog tags to its military combatants.

It's clear to see that unless these issues are fixed by a future resolution, we cannot have the Military Identification Tag Act on the WA books.[10]

Ban On Forced Blood Sports Against Today's resolution poses a threat to the culture of nations who participate in blood sports, I see it to be a form of cultural genocide. According to Stavenhagen Rodolfo a professor at United Nations University in his book The Ethnic Question; cultural genocide must be combated at all costs as it leads to the destruction of all of humanity.

For the above reasons, I urge a vote Against this proposal.[11]
