Etamology of Tumland
+
As of 4 Septemeber 2015, the current leader is Griffin Airhourser serving as the 21st President.

The 'Tum' is Tumland to symbolise the most prominent god in the major faith there, Tumaniti.

Etymology of Tumland
Capital of Tumland
+
The name Tumland derives from a combination of linguistic elements, primarily rooted in the religious and cultural history of the nation. The term "tum" finds its origin in Tumaniti, the predominant religious belief system in Tumland. Tumaniti venerates Tum Tum, the leading deity in its pantheon. The choice of "tum" reflects the profound influence of Tumaniti on the cultural and spiritual identity of the nation.
The capital city of Tumland is Tum Central, where trade and scientific advancements spread throughout the bustling city. It was the final resting place of The Five Paladins and is incredibly faithful, however not as faithful as Pennisula, the holy city of Tumland. It’s also where the main headquarters of the alliance, TALISMAN is located.
+

Leaders of Tumland
+
The second component, "land," is a straightforward term indicating a geographical territory or region.
There are three main rulers of the country: Governor Griffin Airhourser, King Thorn II, and Rangatira Leon.
+

The governor is regarded by the populous as very carefree and ignorant of his responsibilities. The King is semi-competent, however, most of his power has been relinquished from the monarchy, so his position is mostly diplomatic. The Pope however is heavily skilled in keeping the country and its holy duties in order. He is highly regarded by the people and keeps the loyalty of the nation record high.

Griffin Airhourser's leadership has faced criticism, with some suggesting that the concentrated authority granted to the leader might resemble a form of dictatorship. This perspective stems from the significant control and influence wielded by the selected leader during their ten-year tenure. While the lottocracy system aims to ensure inclusivity, it has sparked debates about the concentration of power. Airhourser's leadership style and policies continue to be a topic of interest both domestically and internationally.

The ancient era of Tumland is generally considered to have begun around 500 BCE, as the people of Tumland began to develop more advanced agricultural techniques and to build permanent settlements. Prior to this time, the people of Tumland were nomadic, following herds of animals and living in temporary shelters. With the development of agriculture, however, the people of Tumland were able to settle in one place and begin building permanent homes and communities. This led to a period of rapid growth and expansion, as the population of Tumland increased and the people began to explore the surrounding regions.

One of the most notable achievements of the ancient Tumlandic people was their rapid exploration of two continents, Ecros and Sur. These vast regions were home to a wide array of different cultures, languages, and peoples, and the Tumanitun explorers were fascinated by the new lands and people they encountered. Over the course of several centuries, Tumanitun explorers travelled vast distances across these continents, mapping new territories, establishing trade routes, and forming alliances with local peoples. They encountered a wide array of cultures and civilizations, including Creeperopolis, Quebecshire and Corevilla. As the people of Tumland continued to explore and expand their territory, they developed a rich cultural heritage that included art, music, literature, and philosophy. They created intricate sculptures, vibrant textiles, and beautiful pottery, and their epic poems and stories reflected their love of adventure, exploration, and the natural world.

Medieval
Tumland used to have a much larger influence over Terraconserva, with a sprawling empire. It was called the Folkonian Empire, and controlled all of Tumland, Abersiania, Dalmato and parts of Montcrabe. However, in 1778, the empire collapsed due to the death of its only leader, King Makon I. Despite its success, it was one of the shortest-lasting empires, only being around for 64 years.

However, over time, these tribes began to form into individual city-states, and the country became more organized and centralized.
 +

 +
During this time, the city-states of Tumland became more organized and centralized, with many of them developing into powerful kingdoms. The rulers of these kingdoms were often powerful warriors, and they would engage in battles with neighboring kingdoms in an attempt to expand their territories.
 +

The battle lasted for several days, and it was one of the bloodiest battles in Tumland's history.

+
Despite the violence and warfare that characterized much of the medieval era, there were also significant cultural and artistic developments during this time. Many of the city-states of Tumland became centres of art and literature, with many poets, writers, and artists flourishing during this time.

The Theocracy of Tumland is situated in the southeast of Ecros. The country's south enjoys an arid climate and vast deserts near the south-central. The northern parts of the nation however have a temperate climate with cold breezes from the ocean. The eastern peninsula is also similar in temperature and climate. The west is dominated by mainly luscious meadows, murky swamps and dense rainforests. Wetlands and marshes are abundant due to constant rainfall in the west, this however deprives water in the south. The Southwestern coast has magnificent beaches and a tropical climate but the north, however, is heavily polluted by Dalmatian commerce. Hills and small mountains are sparse throughout the nation.
+
One of the most significant artistic developments of the medieval era was the development of calligraphy. Calligraphy was a highly valued art form in Tumland, and many calligraphers became famous for their intricate and beautiful designs. Many of these calligraphers used the Arabic script, which was highly valued for its beauty and complexity.

Tumland is a unique country with a variety of customs and traditions that might seem strange to outsiders. One such tradition is the use of gladiatorial arenas as a means of entertainment. While this might seem barbaric to some, it is actually an integral part of the country's justice system and has been in place for centuries.

One of the most distinctive features of Tumland's architecture is its use of tiles and ceramics, which can be found in everything from decorative mosaics to entire walls of intricate designs. The use of vibrant colors is also a hallmark of Tumland's art and architecture, with bright blues, greens, and yellows often used to create eye-catching patterns.

Tumland's artistic heritage is also evident in its numerous museums and galleries, which showcase everything from traditional Tangatan art to contemporary installations. Some of the most celebrated artists from Tumland include the renowned painter and sculptor, Kura Mahana, whose works are characterized by their bold use of color and striking shapes. Other notable artists include Saeed Al-Rashid, whose intricate calligraphic works fuse traditional Arabic scripts with contemporary art forms, and Manaia Puhirere, who is known for her beautiful landscapes and portraits.
+
The gladiatorial arenas in Tumland are used exclusively for the purpose of executing criminals who have committed heinous crimes such as mass murder and repeated rape. It is important to note that the use of the arenas is only reserved for the most serious of crimes and is never used as a punishment for lesser offences. It is open to the public to participate as well, promised if they win to earn

In addition to its architecture and art, Tumland is also home to a rich musical tradition that reflects the nation's diverse cultural heritage. Traditional Maori music is an important part of Tumland's cultural identity, with songs and dances often performed at important cultural events and celebrations. Tumland's music scene is also influenced by contemporary styles, with everything from jazz and hip-hop to rock and pop represented in the nation's vibrant music scene.
+
The process is simple: criminals who have been sentenced to death or life are given the option to fight in the arenas in order to win their freedom. They are pitted against other condemned criminals and must fight to the death. However, if a criminal can manage to win nine consecutive fights, they are granted life in prison, albeit a luxurious life compared to traditional prisons.

Overall, Tumland's art and architecture reflect the nation's rich cultural heritage and its commitment to innovation and creativity. From its vibrant use of colour to its intricate geometric patterns, Tumland's art and architecture are a testament to the nation's unique and diverse identity.

The arenas themselves are massive structures that can seat thousands of spectators. The largest arena, located in the capital city of Tum Central, can hold up to 50,000 people. The arenas are designed with intricate mosaics and frescoes, and feature state-of-the-art technology to ensure that the fights are safe and fair.

+

Tourists from around the world flock to Tumland to witness the spectacle firsthand, and the ticket sales, along with merchandise sales and television rights, bring in millions of gregoris each year. This money is used to fund public works projects such as road construction and the maintenance of public parks.

Pokémon, in particular, has a special place in the hearts of the people of Tumland. The franchise centres around creatures known as Pokémon, which can be captured and trained by trainers. The most popular Pokémon in Tumland is Slowpoke, a Water/Psychic type that is known for its relaxed and carefree nature.
+
Despite the obvious benefits of the gladiatorial arenas, they are not without their critics. Many human rights organizations have spoken out against the use of the arenas, claiming that they are barbaric and inhumane. However, the government of Tumland has always maintained that the arenas are an essential part of their justice system and that they will continue to use them as long as the people support them.

Slowpoke is often portrayed as a lazy creature that loves to sleep and eat. It is often seen with a vacant expression on its face and is known for being very slow and leisurely in its movements. Despite its seemingly unintelligent nature, Slowpoke is actually quite powerful in battle and is a favourite of many trainers.

Tumland, officially the Theocracy of Tumland (Tumish:Te Teotaratia o Tumland), is a nation located in the south of Ecros. It is bordered by Sconia to the north-west, Caelean Sea to the north, Romanyan Sea to the south and the Alathasiu Sea to the east. Tumland's capital and largest city is Tum Central, located at the eastern peninsula of the country along the coast of the Alathasiu Sea. As of 2022, Tumland has a population of 38 million, of which most are ethnic Tumanituns, with the second largest minority being Jackians.

As of 4 Septemeber 2015, the current leader is Griffin Airhourser serving as the 21st President.

Etymology of Tumland

The name Tumland derives from a combination of linguistic elements, primarily rooted in the religious and cultural history of the nation. The term "tum" finds its origin in Tumaniti, the predominant religious belief system in Tumland. Tumaniti venerates Tum Tum, the leading deity in its pantheon. The choice of "tum" reflects the profound influence of Tumaniti on the cultural and spiritual identity of the nation.

The second component, "land," is a straightforward term indicating a geographical territory or region.

Leader of Tumland

Griffin Airhourser is the current leader of Tumland, a position he assumed through the unique political system known as lottocracy. In Tumland, leadership transitions occur every ten years when a national lottery selects the next leader from eligible citizens.

Griffin Airhourser

Griffin Airhourser's leadership has faced criticism, with some suggesting that the concentrated authority granted to the leader might resemble a form of dictatorship. This perspective stems from the significant control and influence wielded by the selected leader during their ten-year tenure. While the lottocracy system aims to ensure inclusivity, it has sparked debates about the concentration of power. Airhourser's leadership style and policies continue to be a topic of interest both domestically and internationally.

History of Tumland

Prehistory

Tumland was dominated by hundreds of tribes spread across the land. However many of these early settlements perished due to difficult landscapes and 'The Ravage'. As a result, only the isolated and advanced tribes could survive. Tumland is a region that is believed to have been inhabited by various ancient tribes dating back thousands of years ago. The tribes of Tumland were known for their unique cultural practices and beliefs, including elaborate rituals and ceremonies that were performed to appease the gods and ensure a bountiful harvest. They were also skilled in various arts and crafts, such as pottery, weaving, and metalworking, which they used to create beautiful and functional objects for everyday use.

One of the most notable features of the tribes of Tumland was their social structure, which was based on a complex system of clans and lineages. Members of each clan were bound by a shared history and cultural heritage, and they worked together to maintain their traditional way of life. Despite the existence of rivalries and conflicts among the different clans, the tribes of Tumland generally lived in peace and cooperation.

Archaeological evidence suggests that the tribes of Tumland had advanced knowledge of agriculture, masonry, and other essential survival skills. In fact, they had the highest levels of animal husbandry for their time. They relied on these skills to support their communities and to ensure their long-term survival. In addition to their practical knowledge, they also developed a highly developed written tradition, passing down their history, stories, and beliefs from one generation to the next.

Despite their ancient origins, the tribes of Tumland have largely disappeared from the historical record, leaving only scattered evidence of their existence. Today, the few remaining descendants of these tribes continue to preserve and honour their rich cultural heritage, and they remain an important part of the region's cultural identity.

Ancient

Tumland's ancient era is a time of great exploration, discovery, and cultural exchange. During this period, the people of Tumland rapidly expanded their territory, explored new lands, and interacted with a diverse array of cultures and peoples.

One of the most notable achievements of the ancient Tumlanitun people was their rapid exploration of two continents, Ecros and Sur. They encountered a wide array of cultures and civilizations, including Montcrabe, Sconia and Fieri.

During this time, the people of Tumland also developed a complex religious and spiritual system that was based on the principles of Tumaniti. Tumaniti was a polytheistic religion that emphasized the importance of living in harmony with nature and the natural world. It was based on the belief that all living things were interconnected and that everything in the universe was part of a larger whole. The Tumanitun people also developed a sophisticated system of government during this time. They established a council of elders, who were responsible for making decisions and settling disputes. They also developed a legal code that was based on the principles of fairness and justice.

Despite these accomplishments, the ancient era of Tumland was not without its challenges. The people of Tumland faced many obstacles and setbacks, including wars, famines, and natural disasters. One of the most devastating events of this era was another widespread plague that swept through the region, killing countless people and wiping out entire communities. However, the people of Tumland continued to explore and expand their territory, building a rich and vibrant civilization that would endure for centuries to come. Their achievements in exploration, culture, and religion laid the foundation for the vibrant and diverse nation of Tumland that exists today.

Medieval

Tumland, a country located in the southern hemisphere, has a rich and diverse history that dates back to the medieval era. During this time, the land was divided into various tribes, each of which developed its unique culture and way of life. However, over time, these tribes began to form into individual city-states, and the country became more organized and centralized.

Law and Order of Tumland

Tumland is a country with a unique approach to law and order. Unlike many other nations, Tumland has a relatively small police force, relying on its citizens to maintain order and report any criminal activity. Despite this, crime rates in Tumland are low, with a strong sense of community and social responsibility helping to prevent most criminal activity.

One of the most notable features of Tumland's legal system is its lack of drug laws. While drug use is still considered a criminal offence in other countries, in Tumland it is treated as a personal matter, and individuals are free to use drugs as they see fit. This approach has been controversial, with some arguing that it promotes drug use and contributes to the country's crime rate, while others argue that it allows individuals to make informed decisions about their own health and well-being.

Tumland's legal system also permits the use of executions as a form of punishment for serious crimes. While executions are relatively rare in Tumland, they are carried out in a number of obscure ways, such as drowning, being thrown from a cliff, or gladiator fighting. These methods have been criticized by human rights organizations, who argue that they are cruel and inhumane.

In conclusion, Tumland's approach to law and order is unique and controversial, with a small police force, a lack of drug laws, and the use of executions as a form of punishment. Despite these unique features, Tumland remains a safe and stable country, with a strong sense of community and social responsibility helping to maintain order and prevent criminal activity.

Corruption

Tumland is a relatively stable and prosperous country with a low level of corruption. However, there are some concerns about the country's system for electing leaders, which is based on sortition or random selection.

Sortition is a system of choosing leaders by lot, rather than through popular elections or appointed by other officials. In Tumland, the two of three ruling positions are chosen by lot from a pool of citizens. While this system is meant to prevent corruption and ensure fairness, some critics argue that it is too arbitrary and lacks accountability.

Despite these concerns, Tumland is generally seen as a clean and transparent country. The government has implemented several measures to combat corruption, including a strong legal framework and independent agencies such as the Anti-Corruption Commission. Tumland has also signed international agreements such as the United Nations Convention against Corruption and has been praised for its efforts to tackle corruption.

One area where corruption may be a concern in Tumland is in the allocation of government contracts and resources. The government controls many industries and services, including the country's powerful navy and its extensive network of state-owned enterprises. While there are no reports of widespread corruption in these areas, there have been occasional allegations of favouritism or other improprieties.

Overall, Tumland is a country with a relatively low level of corruption. While there are some concerns about the system for selecting leaders, the government has implemented measures to ensure transparency and accountability. As Tumland continues to develop and modernize, it will be important for the government to remain vigilant in its efforts to combat corruption and maintain public trust.

This money is used to fund public works projects such as road construction and the maintenance of public parks.

Despite the obvious benefits of the gladiatorial arenas, they are not without their critics. Tumland used to be one of the leading nations regarding warfare and defensive forces, but since the fall of the Folkonian Empire, the majority of military budget has been diverted. The army is very limited and total numbers are unknown, but estimated to be around 4000. Tumland however has remained one of the top nations in the Terraconserva when it comes to the navy, with highly advanced naval ships and a few battleships. They total at 63,250 members of the navy.
