Top 10 Reasons to Oppose Sequoyah is a 1 minute 21 second long video produced by Creeperopolis on Renderforest.com and published on 13 October 2020 in #tra-general. The video is a shitpost and meme making fun of the roleplay nation of Sequoyah, which was controlled by The Constitutional Republic of Zion at the time the video was produced. As of August 2023, the video is currently a pinned message in #tra-general and has received 19 "laughing" emojis and 19 "aye" emojis.

Plot

Top 10 Reasons to Oppose Sequoyah follows a simple plot of a "countdown list", listing ten different things about Sequoyah in the roleplay which were seen as in-character reasons to oppose the country, with an additional out-of-character punchline as the final entry on the list. The video begins with Default Renderforest.com Guy waving to the viewer with the text "Top 10 Reasons to Oppose Sequoyah" appearing on the right-side of the screen, and the countdown list follows, which includes:

"10. They are broke." The first entry is a commentary on how poor Sequoyah is in comparison to other large player-controlled countries in the roleplay. Default Renderforest.com Guy grabs a piggy bank and realizes that it is empty.
"9. They reject modernity." This entry talks about on how severely behind Sequoyah was from the rest of the world, as the country functioned as if it was stuck in the 1860s. Default Renderforest.com Guy turns away while shaking his head from the text and holds his arms out as if he is rejecting what the text says.
"8. They use slave labor." This entry exemplifies the reason Sequoyah originally became the international pariah of the roleplay: the legalization of slavery in 2020. Default Renderforest.com Guy is seen trying hard to push a cube.
"7. They spread propaganda." This entry talks about the RMB posts which attempted to make Sequoyah look like a good place. Default Renderforest.com Guy is seen pointing at a board with the text "Support Malgax." on a blank canvas, another international pariah but for different reasons. Note that Malgax has since been removed from the roleplay.
"6. Their army massacres civilians." This entry points out that their army, like others in Sur, massacre civilians indiscriminately. Default Renderforest.com Guy is seen receiving chest compressions from Other Renderforest.com Guy as a sort of visual juxtaposition irony.
"5. They beat Xusma." This entry mocks the fact that Sequoyah beat the nation of Xusma during the old system of the 2020 Terraconservan Cup before the entire system was restructured in 2021. At the time, the Sequoyah team had just been established, and defeating Xusma by a score of 1–0. The loss was was a massive embarrassment to Xusma and led to the country becoming one of the world's worst football teams. Note that Xusma has since been removed from the roleplay. Default Renderforest.com Guy is seen in a football uniform and is playing with a ball.
"4. Their politicians don't know what they are doing." This entry is a commentary on how naïve and incompetent the political leaders of the country seemed to be throughout the roleplay. Default Renderforest.com Guy is seen in a suit speaking from a podium, with the text "President" on a white sheet on the podium. The text of "President" is written backwards. The text being backwards was unintentional but further exemplifies the point that the entry is making.
"3. They beg for free money." This entry is a commentary on how much Sequoyah seeks to receive loans from other countries, countries which do not want to grant loans to Sequoyah for either moral or financial reasons. Default Renderforest.com Guy is seen holding a sign reading "Give me money."
"2. They think they are the best in the world." This entry mocks how RMB posts of Sequoyah seemed to try to make the country seem as the best in the world in several fields, when in reality, Sequoyah is far from the best in practically everything. Default Renderforest.com Guy is seen wearing a medal, looking at it and then holding it up to the viewer.
"1. It's literally roleplayed by Zion." The final entry is an out-of-character joke that the country of Sequoyah was, at the time, being roleplayed by The Constitutional Republic of Zion, who earlier in the roleplay, controlled a country called Morova; the country was also an international pariah and was destroyed by a coalition of foreign nations, forcing him to start over from scratch and creating Sequoyah. Default Renderforest.com Guy is seen typing on a computer, a visual representation of The Constitutional Republic of Zion writing an RMB post for the roleplay.

The video ends with Default Renderforest.com Guy waving goodbye to the viewer with the text "Thank you for agreeing with me." appearing on the left side of the screen. Many of the points in the video have since been rendered as voided or retconned overtime, primarily due to players leaving the roleplay and due to Creeperopolis assuming control of Sequoyah from The Constitutional Republic of Zion on 21 July 2023.

Reception

Top 10 Reasons to Oppose Sequoyah was well received by other roleplayers. As of February 2024, the video is a pinned message and has received 34 emoji reactions: 19 "laughing" emojis and 19 "aye" emojis. Some roleplayers expressed their enjoyment of the video. In August 2023, Creeperopolis labeled Top 10 Reasons to Oppose Sequoyah as "THE funny video".

Within the week after the video's release, Lyoa described the video as "the most beautiful 1:21 of my life" and suggested that it should be pinned; the video was later pinned by Creeperopolis himself at 5:57 p.m. PDT, and as of August 2023, the video is still a pinned message in #tra-general. Xusma stated that he "love[d]" the video but was unhappy by his portrayal by the video's point number five. Xusma suggested making a similar video for Malgax. Protocol Rendezvous expressed his enjoyment of point number six.

Years after the video's release, Rakhman described the video as a "beautiful piece of art I had never seen, it brought a tear to my eye". Pavulturilor stated that the video's article on LCN Wiki was "glorious" and "[q]uality wiki". New Gandor stated that Top 10 Reasons to Oppose Sequoyah was "[s]uch a good video".

Legacy and cultural impact

Top 10 Reasons to Oppose Sequoyah inspired several other copycat videos being produced to further any given agenda within the Terraconserva roleplay throughout the rest of 2020. Quebecshire made a similar 58 second video titled "Why you should support the TEU" (the video file itself was titled "output_free.mp4") which presented six reasons that players should join the now-retconned Terraconserva Economic Union; the video was not well received, accumulating 4 "thumbsdown" emojis. Creeperopolis described Quebecshire's video as an "unfunny bandwagon attempt". Other videos were produced by Protocol Rendezvous and Creeperopolis himself.

The video also led to the League's Police Force (LPF) to make videos for each rule of the Discord server, however, most of the LPF's videos are now considered to be lost as they were not properly distributed to the general populace.
