The Septarban Kingdom was a Vaktrian kingdom ruled by the Septarban dynasty, founded by Septarbus after revolting against the Romanyan Empire and breaking away from Romanyan Vaktria in 325. The kingdom officially practiced Astrianism and attempted to suppress the spread of Christianity. It was the rival of Romanyan Dastivia and then the Christian Ragasan Kingdom. The Septarban Kingdom was conquered by the Zuhraid Caliphate in 780.

History
The Kingdom of Vaktria was conquered by the Romanyan Empire in the year 130 and annexed as the Province of Vaktria. In 308, Astrian Vaktrian peasants revolted against Romanyan rule. They were angered about the persecution of Astrians, including the destruction of fire temples. Septarbus, a northern Vaktrian general, emerged as a leader of the revolt. Most of Vaktria north of the Maplas river rallied in support of him. At the time, the Romanyan Empire was also fighting wars to the north east against Kagoria and in the south. With its forces divided, the Romanya was only able to keep the southern third of the province, Romanyan Dastivia. Septarbus organized the north into a new kingdom, claiming to restore the Kingdom of Vaktria.
The dynasty lasted 385 years and had more than twenty Ultvars or kings. The rulers tried to resist the spread of Christianity, often by violent persecution, but Vaktrian Christianity still spread in the south. Astrianism however remained the dominant religion of the Vaktrian people.
The Zuhraid Caliphate had succeeded the Romanyan Empire and Mutadinun Caliphate as the dominant nation in southern Ecros. It conquered the Ragasan Kingdom around 760. The Septarban Kingdom went to war with the caliphate but was defeated in 780.
Language
Vaktrian was the common language of the Vaktrians. Around the 3rd century CE, the Vaktrian language began to diverge into the northern and southern branches. The Romanyan language influenced the Vaktrian language, with the dialects of Romanyan Dastivia being most affected. The Septarban Kingdom actively resisted Romanyanization and prohibiting use of the Iberic script. These differences contributed to the development of the two branches.
The Septarban Kingdom used the Vaktrian alphabet. The Iberic alphabet of the Romanyans was not commonly adopted in Dastivia until the 6th century, and the rest of Vaktria did not adopt it until the 10th century.
Religion
The dominant and official religion of the Septarban Kingdom was Astrianism, specifically the Paitestan branch. Vaktrian Christianity had begun spreading throughout the region, with Dastivia having a significant Christian population. Septarban rulers attempted to prevent the Christianity from enterring the kingdom by expelling any Christians and promoting Astrianism.
