The Provisional Government of El Salvador (Salvadoran Spanish: Gobierno Provisional de El Salvador, abbreviated GPES) was the government of El Salvador from the dissolution of the Salvadoran Civic Reconstruction Junta on December 1, 1966, until it was replaced by the current government of El Salvador on January 1, 1970. The government was ruled by a military junta and it was lead by four men with Field Marshal Armando Molina Barraza being its leader and head.
