Pirates, privateers, raiders, and criminals |
Between the 900s and 1848, piracy was a serious problem on Lake San Salvador. Pirates attacked several cities along the coast of the lake, including Almadinat Almuqadasa (later La'Victoria), La'Unión, and San Salvador. Additionally, pirates and criminals used the lake as a refuge from Deltinian, Aljanubi, and Creeperian naval patrols due to the shear size of the lake.
Creeperian Emperor Adolfo III took increased military action against piracy during his early reign, and declared piracy, which had been up to that point a nearly 1,000-year problem on the lake, to have been fully eradicated in 1848.
