Political career
Buchanan has served in two presidential cabinet roles, as the State Minister and State Delegate from Avalon, as the Chairman of the Traditionalist Party and as an Ambassador.
State Minister from Avalon (2030-2034)
Buchanan was elected to the state ministry in 2030 largely due to his fathers noteriety in Migazan politics, funding and Buchanans debate skills. During his term he proved his leadership skills and demonstrated a passion for building the economic systems of his state. He gained had a close personal relationship with Vice President Avraham Danziger.
Director of the RAMP (2037-2046)
Buchanan’s political connections earned him a role in Avi Navon’s cabinet. Navon viewed Buchanan as a political fighter and a firm believer in the social safety net and the opt-in tax system. This came under scrutiny during his time as the Icarisian Union of Business Minded Traditionalists emerged as a strong faction within the party. Buchanan served in the role for 9 years. He was replaced by President Shamir because of her free enterprise views clashing with his. During his tenure in the role he ran for President in 2045.
