Lieutenant Colonel (Col Lt, Ladin: Colonelleutnante) is a military rank which is used by both the Tiroler Army and Rifles. The rank is superior to major, and subordinate to colonel. The equivalent rank in the Tiroler Navy is frigate captain, and wing commander in the Tiroler Aviation Corps. A lieutenant colonel will typically command a battalion of around 500 men.
