Julian Peter Vanderburg (born May 28, 1971) is the former vice president of Gjorka. Before entering the vice presidency, he was the Mayor of Nomakoa. He is a member of the Vanderburg family and is the brother of former President Roman Vanderburg and Inner Kingdom Bandits head coach Andrew Vanderburg.
Born and raised in Gjorkan City, Gjorka, Julian attended Nomakoa University for three years as a Political Science major. After graduating, he became an advocate for the Gjorkan Peace Initiative, a group demanding the end of the Gjorkan Military. Using the support of the GPI he was elected to the City Council of Nomakoa. In 1997, at the age of 28, he managed to secure the Forward Gjorkan nomination for Mayor of Nomakoa in the coming election. He swiftly was elected president and helped to reduce homelessness in half during his 15 years in office. However, he was criticized for curtailing the police force which caused crime to rise. He joined his brother, Roman Vanderburg as the vice-presidential nominee from Forward Gjorka, and was elected. He ran for President to succeed his brother in the 2021 Forward Gjorka presidential primaries and won the parties nomination. His presidential campaign was described as lackluster with much of his campaign focusing on his brother's accomplishments rather than the one he will make himself. His choice of Zachary Hill to be his running mate was also heavily criticized as Hill dropped out of the primaries suddenly creating an easy pathway for Vanderburg to take the nomination. He lost the election, underperforming significantly garnered only 30% of the vote significantly fewer than the 45% he and his brother had garnered the last election.
