The Imperial Order of Romerism (Creeperian – Creeperian: Որդեն Իմպերիալ դել Րոմերիսմո; Creeperian – Iberic: Orden Imperial del Romerismo),[note 1] is a state order of Creeperopolis. It was established in 1949 during the Creeperian Civil War by the Catholic Imperial Restoration Council (Imperial Council) and was dedicated to the Imperial Council's founder and first Emperor: Romero I (reign: 2 January 1933 – 6 July 1946). It is currently a political order, being awarded for "exceptional service to the destined political and patriotic cause of the Fatherland." As of 15 September 2021, a total of 184 individuals have been bestowed the order.
History
The Imperial Order of Romerism was established by Emperor Romero II on 18 June 1949, the 50-year anniversary of the birth of former Emperor Romero I, who ruled from 1933 until his death in 1946. The imperial order was established during the Creeperian Civil War, and as such, was established to reward those who advanced the political agenda of the Catholic Imperial Restoration Council (Imperial Council), known as the Romerists.
Since its establishment, the order has been traditionally only awarded on 15 September, the Day of the Creeperans and national day of Creeperopolis, usually being awarded during the 15 September National Unity Parade by the Emperor. It is typically awarded after incidents of political significance to the country, most notably after the 2003 Creeperian coup d'état where 34 people were awarded the imperial order due to their roles in organizing and commanding the coup.
To be eligible to receive the reward, an individual must be a citizen of Creeperopolis, El Salvador, or the State of the Church, however, the Emperor may issue an imperial exemption to bestow the imperial order upon a foreign individual, without Creeperian citizenship, for significant contributions to Creeperopolis' political system. Since its creation, only eight foreigners have ever been bestowed the imperial order.
Design
The order's primary feature is the central Eagle of the House of Martínez which represents then reigning imperial family of Creeperopolis, which has held the throne since the country's establishment in 1231, and before then, controlling the Emirate of Rabadsun since usurping power from the House of Amara in 1120. The eagle rests atop a red Cross of San Juan.
The cross is adorned by two sets of five bundles of arrows, and at the tail of the eagle is a yoke. The symbol of the yoke and arrows was a historic symbol of the Creeperian monarchy dating back to the reign of King Felipe I and his consort, Queen Isabela. The symbol has since been associated with Sáenzism–Falangism as the symbol was adopted by the Catholic Royalist Party (PRC) during the Second Parliamentary Era in 1902. The inclusion of the yoke and arrows symbolizes both Felipe I and Isabela, due to their influence in the establishment of the Kingdom of Creeperia, and the Catholic Royalist Party, due to its immense influence during the Second Parliamentary Era and later post-war Creeperian political structure.
The halo of the eagle, the arrows, the yoke, and the outline of the cross are all composed of gold.
