TCN

A cornerstone of Karimun's contemporary foreign policy is its participation in the Terraconserva Council of Nations (TCN), of which it was a founding member in 1952 with Creeperopolis, Eminople, Gagium, Gjorka, Greater Sacramento, New Gandor, Quebecshire, San Carlos Islands, and Xusma. Since then, Groffenord, Malgax, Morova, Paleocacher, Terranihil, and Willdavie also have joined the TCN. While tasked with maintaining international peace and security, developing friendly relations among nations, achieving international co-operation, and being a centre for harmonizing the actions of nations. The TCN Representative in Karimun is located in the capital city, Giovanni, exactly located at Jalan Sisingamangaraja No.15C, Kebayoran Baru, South Giovanni.

In the late 1990s to early 2000s, Karimun's continued domestic troubles have distracted it from some international matters and consequently lessened its influence within the organisation, focusing on solving domestic problems. However, after the political and economic transformation, from the turmoil of 1998 Reformasi to the relatively open and democratic civil society with rapid economic growth in the 2010s, Karimun returned to the international stage by appointing young Hasan Wirajuda into the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs in 2003. Karimun's bilateral relations with two neighbouring TCN members (Groffenord and Lyoa) are not without challenges. If not appropriately managed, it would result in mutual mistrust and suspicion, thus hindering bilateral and regional co-operation.
