FCN Music Night, also sometimes referred to as the 1st FCN Music Night and abbreviated as FCNMN, was an event held in the Federation of Conservative Nations on 8 and 9 September 2018 where several FCNers gathered in fcn-radio and played music from approximately 6:30pm to 12:30pm Pacific Daylight Time (PDT).

The event was one of the earliest instances of a community gathering event in the history of the Federation of Conservative Nations. Since then, two attempts were made to revive FCN Music Night, but every attempt failed to gather the same amount of participation and involvement, always ending prematurely.

History about FCN Music Night is rare as no official posts were made regarding the event, and since the destruction of the Federation of Conservative Nations server in December 2019, the only evidence of its existence are in Creeperopolis' and Gagium's memories, with most available information coming from Creeperopolis.

Background

In the days prior to FCN Music Night, the Federation of Conservative Nations achieved a population of 100 nations for the first time in its history on 7 September 2018.[1] The event would also be celebrating the one year anniversary of the establishment of the Federation of Conservative Nations: 9 September.[2] President Gagium and Secretary of Internal Affairs New Waldensia decided to celebrate the occasion by holding a night of celebration. The day of Friday 7 September was chosen to hold the celebration as it would allow people to be able to attend. New Waldensia offered a reward of $250,000 FCN Dollars to the person who would stay in attendance of FCN Music Night the longest.

Events

The only verifiable meme which originated from FCN Music night, courtesy of Creeperopolis.

At approximately 6:30pm PDT,[note 2] FCN Music Night began in fcn-radio. Rhythm was used as the bot to play music for the music night. Creeperopolis, Eldrado, Gagium, and New Waldensia all started the night, but New Waldensia would later leave. Bukoviya, Thicc Peanut, and Trenado later joined and remained throughout the night. Doge Republics and Viridus may have attended, but it is unknown.

Over one hundred songs were played, and many were even replayed, some multiple times. The channels of the Federation of Conservative Nations were spammed with memes and general conversation by the participants, most notably music and general, as no one talked during FCN Music Night.[note 4] Throughout the night, one of the most talked about topics was who would win the $250,000 FCN Dollar prize, which both Creeperopolis and Gagium claimed they would win. At around 12:30pm PDT,[note 2] FCN Music Night ended when Gagium resigned in defeat, and as everyone except Creeperopolis had already left, Creeperopolis won the $250,000 FCN Dollar prize, but $90,000 of it was stolen by Gagium before Creeperopolis could deposit it into the bank. Gagium later accused Creeperopolis of cheating for "being a filthy west coaster" and never forgave Creeperopolis for allegedly cheating.[5]

During the night, Thicc Peanut drew Creeperopolis his first NationStates profile picture, being a Polandball of Creeperopolis. It was poorly drawn, but it remained his profile picture until 9 April 2019. Previously, Creeperopolis' profile picture was only a Polandball of El Salvador.

Notable songs played

Over one hundred songs were played over the course of FCN Music Night. Below are some of the most notable songs played during FCN Music Night, all being repeated at least once at some point during the event:

Aftermath

On 15 September, Crimsonfield and several followers, numbering fourteen, were banned from the Federation of Conservative Nations for attempting to overthrow Gagium's government by DDoSing his internet service over the span of 7 to 15 September.[1][5]

Legacy

The events of 15 September likely completely overshadowed those of FCN Music Night as it would later have implications including the Liberate Federation of Conservative Nations, 2018 Union of Conservative States coup d'état, and the 2019 Coalition of Conservative States coup d'état.[6][7][8] Little more is known about FCN Music Night, and since the Federation of Conservative Nations server was destroyed in December 2019, only one meme from the night has survived. Other memes that originated from FCN Music Night may exist, but their status as originating from FCN Music Night may be completely unverifiable. No images of any conversations which occurred during FCN Music Night are known to exist. According to Creeperopolis, FCN Music Night is the event which effectively began his extensive involvement in the Federation of Conservative Nations and he would later become Head Journalist one week later, which has been sometimes labeled as a self coup and a power grab by Creeperopolis.[citation needed]

Since FCN Music Night, two attempts were made by Creeperopolis and Gagium to revive FCN Music Night. A second FCN Music Night was declared for 14 to 15 September 2018, but due to Crimsonfield's DDoS attacks on Gagium, not enough interest was generated in the event and the event was called off. Another attempt was done for 21 to 22 September 2018, but not enough people attended and the event was called off prematurely. These "Second" and "Third" FCN Music Nights were failures, and since then, no other serious attempts were done to recreate the original FCN Music Night.
