The Federation of Gjorka is Federal Presidential Constitutional Republic with a unicameral legislature. The President of Gjorka, who operates as both head of state and government, is elected by a first-past the post popular vote method. The National Assembly's members are elected via Mixed-member proportional representation. At the district level, members of constituent legislatures are elected via ranked-choice voting. Gjorkan citizens are eligible to vote once they turn 19, and are granted the right to a secret ballot.
Gjorka's elections are populated with a multitude of political parties. Since, the return to democracy in 1972, three political parties (along with independents) have been elected President, however the National Assembly has seen a number of parties control a plurality. Thus Gjorka is often characterized as a multi-party democracy.
