The Disaster of Public, also referred to as Rule 5 Day and abolishhonduars69 Day,[note 1] was an event where the Consulate of the Republic authorized spamming in public to experiment with bot features on 2 February 2021.[note 2][1] The experimentation did not go as planned and several sever communications failures occurred leading to the event's miscarriage.

Background

In the months prior, the Consulate of the Republic had cracked down on rulebreaking and had implemented new restrictions on speech. The Consulate sought for ways to delete mass amounts of rulebreaking content that has remained from since before the reforms began.

Disaster

On 2 February 2021, Quebecshire and Terranihil invited Dyno in an attempt to delete rule breaking content. Quebecshire informed the people in public to being spamming, and Protocol Rendezvous and Terranihil began to spam. He attempted to run commands, but the bot failed and it was banned.

Quebecshire then invited CommandCleanup and did the same procedure. Protocol Rendezvous, Spode Humbled Minions, and Terranihil began spamming. Creeperopolis saw the spam in public but did not understand what was happening. He muted Terranihil amidst the chaos, and seeing Creeperopolis' action, Spode Humbled Minions proceeded to warn himself. Quebecshire was very mad and called both Creeperopolis and Spode Humbled Minions "idiots" but continued with testing the bot. The bot failed, but it was because Quebecshire did the command incorrectly. After doing the command correctly, the bot failed to do anything for five minutes. He told people to spam again, which Creeperopolis, Paleocacher, Protocol Rendezvous, Spode Humbled Minions, and Terranihil spammed. Amidst the chaos, Spode Humbled Minions muted himself for thirty minutes and Creeperopolis warned Paleocacher for breaking rule 5. The bot was tested, but it failed and was banned. Spode Humbled Minions' casefile was deleted before he could appeal it, so he remained muted for the thirty minutes. The bot was reinvited to test it one last time and Creeperopolis spammed "abolishhonduars69" in public, but the bot failed and it was banned.

Quebecshire then invited Carl-bot to do the same thing. Creeperopolis spammed "abolishhonduars69" again, but it successfully deleted the spam. He then ran a command to delete rulebreaking content, but nothing was deleted as it is unable to delete things that are older than two weeks. Quebecshire got very mad and banned the bot.

Quebecshire, to settle concerns raised by Spode Humbled Minions, then told Creeperopolis to attempt to ban Terranihil to see if LPF officers can ban Consuls, but he was unable to. Paleocacher attempted to warn Creeperopolis, but he was told to cease by both Creeperopolis and Quebecshire. Quebecshire and Terranihil resigned the night in defeat.

Notes

  1. Rule 5 Day was coined by Terranihil as rule 5 was broken. abolishhonduars69 Day was coined by Creeperopolis as he spammed "abolishhonduars69."
  2. The Disaster of Public is recognized in EST and CST as 2 February while it is recognized as 1 February in MST and PST.
