Darius Kay (b. 2026) is an Icarisian politician and farmer. He served as the state delegate from Paletaph's 1st District for 1 term and is currently serving as the _th Minister of Health and Medical Services in the Dietrich Weber presidential administration.

Early life and career

He was born in Paletaph, Icaris before attending college for agricultural business. After graduation he bought land from money he'd saved and began a small organic farming operation with hopes to develop and discover techniques to reclaim the land after the effects of the Great War. He became quite successful and in 2058, his discoveries were patented by an agricutlural technology company and programmed to computerized machinery to mass replicate the processes. Kay did not consent to this dispersal and felt mass replication of the techniques wouldn't protect the land in the ways he had hoped. He sued the company for stealing his work and won a civil suit two years later. The case won national attention and launched Kay into the public eye as an advocate for business regulation, organic and sustainable farming, and public health. For two years after the case, he continued farming but began speaking at agriculture conferences and shows, debating other scientists and public health officials and proved himself to be one of the leading innovators in the field. He was approached shortly after winning his case by [[

Political career

Shortly after winning his court case that launched Kay into the public eye, Chairman of the Traditionalist Party Mitchell Buchanan reached out and discussed his chances for running for public office. Kay's district was up for reelection in two years and he'd challenge Libertist Tate Dennell if he won the primary. Kay decided to run on fighting for public health, restricting business monopolies and protecting small businesses and agricultural concerns.

State Delegate

Kay was unlike amny candidates. He was from a rural background but grew up in the city and was college educated. His platform was populist and grassroots and he seemed to have a keen ability to light up a room, debate intelligently and respectfully, and concede to the other side if he was bested.

Kay in his one term co-authored or authored more bills than any other Delegate during that session. He was notably the most non-partisan and worked with many other delegates no matter their party to pass legislation. He whipped votes in favor of his bills quite well with his persuasion skills.

Minister of Health and Medical Services

President Weber faced backlash for selecting him as he was a conscientious objector to the compulsory military service.
