The founding core values of the college were "Protection and nourishment of free thinking, collection and development of intellect, and the eternal dedication to study." The college was a cultural headquarters for the growth of the Democratic movement in the 18th century, a movement led by Chapman Wells himself against the Federal Republican government and the Federal Front.
Chapman Wells University was founded as a co-educational institution; making it one of the only universities at the time that permitted women.
Upon Chapman Wells election as President of the Democratic Republic of Krystallum, the college was admitted into the KERUN.
