The chairman or chairwoman is the official title of the leader of the National Progressive Party (NPP). The position was created in 1930 when Žep Virát founded the NPP and sat as its first chairman. In 1940 when the NPP gained control over the Terranilian government, Chairman became synonymous with the position of President. So far six men and one woman have held the position; Dreichren Ermák has been the current chairman since 2009.
