Centralized education movement in Icaris

The centralized education movement in Icaris focuses on the effectiveness of the Liberty Schools in Icaris; which operate under extremely minimal federal regulation and slightly more, but little state regulation. These Liberty Schools were born out of the decentralized education system of Krystallum (later changed in the 20th century), and out of a rejection of state control many saw in Icaris' predecessor nation, Migaza in which the state used public education to influence politics and push their authoritarian propaganda. The first Liberty Schools (at the time just school) occurred in the tunnels during the nuclear fallout of the Great War. Normal life vanished, but parents adopted their lives and place education of children at the top of their priorities. These home-schools grew into small organized groups whom all agreed to the same style of teaching and curriculum. Once life was restored above ground, parents felt children were better off in a controlled educational environment, small enough to make change but big enough to have communal earning. Thus the Liberty Schools were born. Since the nation's founding, centralizing education has been a top priority for many legislators, but almost no ground has been made.
