Astoria University is a private research university located in downtown Astoria, in the Astoria Federal District of Krystallum. The university was chartered by the Confederate Education Council, directed by High Chancellor of Krystallum Thomas Scott in 1558.
The university was founded as an all-male university and strictly secular in teaching as many of the universities of the time had adopted theological curriculum to spread the Jursan religion and train leaders in the church. Astoria University, being in the capital city of and largest city in of Krystallum receives the most of all the KERUN applications.
