Aramaic (Pytabian: ܐܪܡܝܐ, Aremeya) is a Semitic language that originated among the Arameans in the ancient region of Alaia. Aramaic served as the language of public life and administration of the civilizaions of the Ancient Caelean Coast from Assoria to Kagoria and also as the liturgical language of Pytabian Christianity. Aramaic split into several branches, and several dialects from these branches, called Neo-Aramaic, are still spoken today, including Pytabian.

Aramaic belongs to the Semitic language family, which also includes Arabic, Hebrew, and many other extinct languages. Aramaic languages are written in the Aramaic alphabet, a descendant of the Ayreoshubic alphabet, with the most prominent variant being the Pytabian alphabet. Later writing systems including the Hebrew alphabet and the Arabic alphabet are derived from Aramaic.

There are currently more than 12 million Aramaic speakers, most of whom live in eastern Terranihil. The Aramaic alphabet is still used for liturgical and literary purposes, though generally Aramaic is written in the Iberic script.
