He is the longest serving democratically elected leader of the country. Prior to his time in government, Vacarescu gained notoriety for his various business ventures leading him to be named the richest person in the world in 2050.

Vacarescu's various business ventures included founder and CEO of CurreLink, one of the first money transfer companies; RideLink, a leading rideshare company, as well as serving as the President of KOLSA EV, the electric vehicle subsidiary of Nielsen Automotive.

Vacarescu left the business world behind in 2050 when he founded Sustainment Stewardship International, an environmental and sustainment nonprofit.

Early life

Business career

Initial ventures

Vacarescu came of age during The Lockdown in which lots of the internet and technical global connectivity was lost. He developed an interest in a global age that was steadily rising again to power, with technology even more advanced than before. After graduating from college, he attempted various business ventures that all failed. He began a new music streaming service and later attempted to combine it with his own social media service. The company failed to compete with other platforms and they went bankrupt. Vacarescu also attempted to begin a cyber security firm with his friends who'd studied computer and software engineering. The firm failed in three months.

CurreLink

Most money transfer services became un-securable during the reconstruction period after the great war and many were skeptical of money transferring digitally due to wide-scale corruption uncovered in the early 2010s. Vacarescu founded CurreLink in 2035 and addressed security concerns by bolstering its financial and cyber security credibility. Vacarescu stepped down as CEO in 2039 to pursue other ventures but remained as its Chairman of the Board after bringing the company public due to its major success as a private company.

RideLink

Vacarescu had heard of a college safe ride share service that was primarily provided to students in college towns. As Chairman of CurreLink, Vacarescu saw the opportunity to combine the two services - customers using CurreLink money transferring to pay for a rideshare service. Vacarescu purchased SafeRide and turned it into RideLink, a rideshare company that only used CurreLink as its payment method. Both companies urged in their use and popularity.

In 2043, KOLSA EV had emerged as a leader in the electric vehicle arena. Vacarescu was interested in the technology and the future of EVs, and met with Brandon Nielsen to form an alliance between RideLink and KOLSA EV. They came to an agreement that RideLink drivers would lease KOLSA EV cars as their ridesharing vehicle. The agreement brought success to both companies.

KOLSA EV

Brandon Nielsen was so happy with Vacarescu's innovative idea to combine the RideLink and KOLSA EV marketing strategy, he offered him the CEO position. Vacarescu sold RideLink and became the CEO of KOLSA EV, which at the time had been headquartered in Icaris. He remained in the position from 2046-2050.

Sustainment Stewardship International

Vacarescu stepped down as the KOLSA EV CEO to return to his home country Venishlavia. He cited wanting to found a nonprofit to further the efforts of environmentalism and sustainment in the country, using innovative business solutions to bring the nation on par with other, more sustainable countries. He founded Sustainment Stewardship International in 2050 and held the role of Executive Director for 6 years.
