The 2018 Union of Conservative States coup d'état, or the 2018 UCS coup d'état or coup d'état's for short, was a coup led by Trenado and Lermant that was coordinated by the cabinet of the FCN against the UCS after Crimsonfield's unannounced departure.

Background

Coup

Aftermath

After the coup, the UCS was declared as a regional protectorate of the FCN "in retribution of the crimes across NationStates committed by [UCS] officers & administration."[2] The Reorganized Government of the Union of Conservative States (RG-UCS) was created by Gagium as a means to administer the new protectorate. In regards to the coup, Doge Republics stated that "we just replaced the government with a less corrupt one."

In the aftermath of the coup, several entities spoke out against the coup. On October 28, members of the region SECFanatics declared war on the FCN, stating, "Expect an upcoming invasion." On November 5, a member of the Northern Redlands demanded a regional intervention in response to the coup. Creeperopolis was successfully able to defuse the latter situation.

In February 2019, Crimsonfield returned to NationStates to found the Coalition of Conservative States with other former UCS members. This prompted The United Australian States, Gagium, and Doge Republics to plan the 2019 CCS coup d'état.
