The 1978 San Juan race riots (Creeperian: 1978 disturbios raciales en Deltino; Deltinian: 1978 أعمال شغب سباق ديلتينو, transliterated as 1978 'aemal shaghab sibaq Diltinu) were a series of racial incited riots by Deltinians against Castillianans and Creeperans as a result of the assassination of Iftikhar al-Mutasim by the National Intelligence Directorate (DINA). Around 7,500 Creeperans and Castillianans were killed by Deltinian rioters, while around 5,000 Deltinians were killed by the Creeperian Army in response to the riots. The riots are generally considered to be the beginning of the Deltinian Insurgency.
