1917 is a 2019 Gjorkan war film directed and produced by Michael Calley. The film is a fictional story during the Second Gjorkan Civil War about two revolutionary soldiers delivering crucial information to their superior officer during the Battle of Éire. The film is inspired by stories from the directors grandfather Daniel Calley whom was a posthumous recipient of the Red Eagle Medal, the highest and prestigious military award that can be given out to a serviceman.
1917 released theatrically on December 25, 2019 by New Dream Pictures. The film was a critical success grossing ₱1 Billion Pón in Gjorka making it the highest grossing film that year. As well it received a rating of 9.7 from the Gjorka Times. The film is also remarkable for being the first big-budget war film since the military government.
